Hexagon is a small bagel shop / cafe in the heart of downtown North Adams
PATRICK LANG & NICHOLAS RIGGER
"Why Hexagon?" The bagels are not hexagonal. 6-sided bagels probably wouldn't be very good. Hexagon started in 2018 as a small vegetable farm specializing in rare and heirloom varieties and sustainable growing methods.
the farm
On a six-sided property nestled amongst rolling hills in western Wisconsin, Patrick and Nick produced over a hundred varieties of vegetables and herbs for 2 farmers markets and a short-lived producers' cooperative. They also baked, at a local cafe and at home, respectively.
Hexagon BAGELS
Nick and Patrick now live in North Adams (Patrick grew up at the other end of Berkshire County), and they began developing, in earnest, their bagel recipe in early 2023.
The Hexagon name was given new life in June 2023, when the first Hexagon Bagels sold out at the North Adams Farmers Market.
Access to a commercial kitchen was crucial for growing Hexagon into a recognizable business. All Saints Berkshires hosted us from 2023 to early 2025. Scale and quality increased with a move to the Red Shirt Farm Market commercial kitchen in 2025
55 Main St, North Adams, MA
We love welcoming folks to the shop. At our home on Main Street in North Adams, bagel shop meets diner meets neighborhood coffee shop. We first occupied the 14-foot-wide space, originally used as the Paramount Theater lobby, in May 2025.
Over the next 5 months, we opened the storefront to natural light, uncovered and repaired the parquet floor, and installed bakery equipment. We hope you find it to be a welcoming space that keeps you connected to our community.
We are proud to be stewards of this historic space.
